New Roots is the Youth Music Action Zone for Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. An Action Zone is an area selected by Youth Music to receive funding to provide music making opportunities for young people from 0-18 years who would not usually have the opportunity to do so. Youth Music Lottery funded through Arts Council England. New Roots is one of 22 Youth Music Action Zones in England.
New Roots is managed by the The Hive in Shrewsbury and by The Music Pool in Hereford.
